About the event
At this workshop you can turn your plastic waste into a new pair of earrings - as funky or as modest as you like!
This workshop is for anyone who's keen on recycling plastic waste; anyone who's keen on making and creating; anyone who fancies a nice new pair of earrings for themselves or a friend; or anyone who's just intrigued and fancies coming along to see what we're up to. Anyone!
You'll be able to buy a drink or some cake at our lovely venue for the evening, Tandem Coffee House and take home your creation! (Tap water will also be available.)
We'll supply all the tools and guidance, as well as some plastic waste that's been collected by lots of different people and businesses in Stockport. Feel free to also bring your own, clean, colourful plastic lids and fruit netting.
The workshop will involve cutting up and melting the bottle lids together to form new shapes and patterns. This ain't your standard shrinkie! We'll also use the fruit nets to make tassels. We'll provide information on the day around the different types of plastic and safe melting temperatures.
If you'd like to come but can't make this event contact Rachel at rachel@plasticshed.org and let us know what could make it work better for you. We can't make any promises but we want to plan many more workshops in the future!
